Abstract:
. Dr.Iqbal had a very intense devotion for Molana Romi, which could be clearly seen in his poetical work that was deeply influenced by Roomi's reflections. Iqbal glorified Romi both in prose and poetry and a very well-known poem of Dr. Iqbal, Peer.o.Mureed can be mentioned in this regard. The dramatic technique of Peer.o.Mureed has played an important role to attract the attention of literary circles. The poem Introduce two characters i.e. A saint/Peer who portrays Romi and his disciple/Mureed that is the poet (Iqbal). The whole poem contains 24 dialogues between the saint and his disciple in total. The poem draws light upon Iqbal's vast vision by his questions which are about Jihaad or the holy struggle in life, human being, Destinism, the day of judgment, the existence of soul and heart and the reality of Islam. Moreover the poet inquires about self control, subjugation of the universe, abasement of Muslims, dictatorship Patriotism, nationalism, monarchy, Marxism Fascism, anti religious approach in European civilizations ,vulgarity in their culture, Inactivity and passivity of Muslims ,imitation of the Western world, and the reality of self awareness etc. Whereas Molana Romi responds to each question in a scholarly and philosophic manner.
